Your name is Dave Strider. Usually you'd start this by saying how cool you are, but that's not actually true. You aren't actually all that cool nor do you actually care. You're old enough to have graduated college but you never went. You just can't really do this people thing, which is why it's so surprising as to how you got your job. You're a daycare worker at some place in the richer area of the city. Kids love you. You have no idea why. It's really weird, but you're not going to try and make a big deal out of it. You get paid well after all. Even though it's your main income, you actually do fairly well with your website. You DJ and you release original music on it and it makes pretty good money. Enough that if you ever lost your job, it would still support you.

You kind of grew up as this really tall, skinny shit. It's your damn metabolism and the only reason you aren't as skinny as you are is because your Bro made sure of it and you actually work out when you have time. That doesn't help with you being paler than any Twilight vampire and being assaulted by freckles. Also your hair kind of freaks people out or everyone thinks you dye it or something. Whatever.

It so happens that you're waiting for the last kid to get picked up. You're still trying to figure out how on Earth Rose somehow became a mom, but whatever. Apparently someone else is picking the kid up today and he's waiting for that person to do so. Seriously, it would be nice if they weren't so late.

"I'm basically the most considerate guy you'll ever meet." Dave's standards are painfully low. Anyone basically is above him on whatever fucked up hierarchy he has in his head.

"Fuck you. I already saw my life flash before my eyes because of water. Not everyone has gills, like you do. Maybe if I were part fish, this swimming thing would go better." Dave just doesn't really want to learn. Swimming is dumb and uncool. He doesn't need to burn nor does showing off his pasty skin really ping him as attractive.

John doesn't even have an existing standard, thank you very much. His standards are so low and his self esteem is so shot he doesn't even care what kind of girl...or perhaps boy now were to come his way. AS long as they aren't trashy.

"I don't have gills Dave. I can just swim that's all. I think you should trust me on this one. But when you're ready dude. We don't have to make this commitment yet." Geez, they were still talking and it was getting really late, he should probably go home or something. But as long as Dave gets home safe and stuff.

"I don't think I actually agreed to learning how to swim, but ok. And don't you have to head home soon? It's not late by my standards, but it is getting dark."

And he has to go sit in his kitchen and stare at that ice cream cake and be mopey or something. "It's not like I'm not easily accessible. I do happen to work weekdays at the same place."

"Sure, I should probably head home. You sure you're alright walking alone? I mean I don't doubt you I was just making sure and everything."

John is going to just go sit at home and be mopey, and probably get ready for working things tomorrow. Also going over to Dave's house is a thing. He just can't stand and wait on Dave and he to make awkward passes at one another. Jesus fucking christ!

"Right, well. I'll see you soon."

"Totally chill with going home alone. I'm used to making walks from here," Dave replied.

Dave isn't going to make passes at John! He isn't sure John would appreciate it anyways. "Yeah. Bye, John." Box tucked under his arm, Dave quickly slides through the space between John and the car and starts walking home.

John gets in his own car and drives home. Thinking about this the whole way home, entirely focused on it. Jesus why did he do that, there probably wasn't a recent movie he saw with that move in it. He is just embarrassing himself!

So he rushes home, and pulls out his laptop. He's going to be looking for Rose's name.

So I kissed Dave because he was trying to leave and I didn't know what else to do. So of course I pulled some stupid move- I guess Nic Cage did it? I don't fucking know.

The point is- I KISSED DAVE. I literally shoved my mouth directly onto his in the biggest smooch I have ever had before. He didn't kiss back...proooobably because he was shocked. Fuck I don't know.

Rose I'm really confused. I think I like boys??? DAVE for that matter.

I didn't expect you to work so fast. Although, I highly doubt you did it to put the moves on him so much as you apparently do fairly ridiculous things in the heat of the moment.
But let's take this one step at a time.
First of all, we always pegged you as someone who is more lax in their sexuality, despite you always saying that you liked the ladies.
Second of all, I don't see what the problem is with liking boys and more specifically, Dave.
Please do enlighten me as to what is wrong with this.

I really like Dave, and I didn't know I really like Dave till my lips were all over him. I made it look like I was being any other douchebag he's been with!

Speaking from experience, but anything you did will never amount to what Dave has gone through in previous relationships.
I'm going to give you a tidbit of information in Dave's way of dating. He always goes out with someone whom he knows he will not stay with it. Dave fears commitment, so he ends up with people he will end up hating or end up leaving. He will go out of his way to be difficult, for the sake of that break up.
Not that it makes him a lousy lover, by any means. He has it drilled into his mind that someone like him is undeserving of a lasting relationship, so when he's been with someone too long, he potentially freaks out about it.

I personally don't know that song and dance. Remember, I'm an extremely spoiled and privileged white girl.

It seems like he and I are running around in complete circles trying to get something we want and we just can't get it you know?

The sunglasses he wears everyday are the ones you gave him when he was thirteen. He has every pesterlog between you and himself in its own folder on an external. It is meticulously organized, which is saying something for him.
He knows what he wants. He just thinks of himself undeserving of it, and avoids it at all costs because of that mentality.
