Your name is Dave Strider. Usually you'd start this by saying how cool you are, but that's not actually true. You aren't actually all that cool nor do you actually care. You're old enough to have graduated college but you never went. You just can't really do this people thing, which is why it's so surprising as to how you got your job. You're a daycare worker at some place in the richer area of the city. Kids love you. You have no idea why. It's really weird, but you're not going to try and make a big deal out of it. You get paid well after all. Even though it's your main income, you actually do fairly well with your website. You DJ and you release original music on it and it makes pretty good money. Enough that if you ever lost your job, it would still support you.

You kind of grew up as this really tall, skinny shit. It's your damn metabolism and the only reason you aren't as skinny as you are is because your Bro made sure of it and you actually work out when you have time. That doesn't help with you being paler than any Twilight vampire and being assaulted by freckles. Also your hair kind of freaks people out or everyone thinks you dye it or something. Whatever.

It so happens that you're waiting for the last kid to get picked up. You're still trying to figure out how on Earth Rose somehow became a mom, but whatever. Apparently someone else is picking the kid up today and he's waiting for that person to do so. Seriously, it would be nice if they weren't so late.

[John kinda cracks a smile at that. Dave is the best subject changer.] Yeah man, fried chicken is pretty awesome.

But you got into a fight because that asshole made fun of the way you looked. You're and adult, he was an adult. This isn't fucking middle school dude. He hasn't a good reason to bully you.

[Dave kind of just slams the cutting board onto the table.] Look. I get made fun of for my looks on a daily basis. It's just a thing that happens and that I've accepted. It's not as bad as it was when I was in school, but it happens from time to time. It's not even that big of a deal. It's not like I get called out for being some demon child anymore. Why are we still talking about this?

[Dave just shuffles over to start peeling potatoes, but it's obvious this conversation is not something he's too enthralled about.]

I don't want to talk about this, alright? If it really bothered me that much, I would dye my hair a darker color and no one would know the difference.

[John sort of gives up and shuts up. Sitting in a kitchen chair. he mumbles a 'fine' and just sits there. He can't really fucking help if he cares, he just can't help it.]

[Dave puts down the bowl he was holding.] What are you saying, John?

[He turns the stove on and waits for the oil to start cooking.] It doesn't really change anything, now does it.

Yes, I've been digging a huge hole for myself ever since I got here. Basically. [He lays his head on the table, literally just wanting to bash himself in the head.]
