[Closed] Day(care) Dreamers
Your name is Dave Strider. Usually you'd start this by saying how cool you are, but that's not actually true. You aren't actually all that cool nor do you actually care. You're old enough to have graduated college but you never went. You just can't really do this people thing, which is why it's so surprising as to how you got your job. You're a daycare worker at some place in the richer area of the city. Kids love you. You have no idea why. It's really weird, but you're not going to try and make a big deal out of it. You get paid well after all. Even though it's your main income, you actually do fairly well with your website. You DJ and you release original music on it and it makes pretty good money. Enough that if you ever lost your job, it would still support you.
You kind of grew up as this really tall, skinny shit. It's your damn metabolism and the only reason you aren't as skinny as you are is because your Bro made sure of it and you actually work out when you have time. That doesn't help with you being paler than any Twilight vampire and being assaulted by freckles. Also your hair kind of freaks people out or everyone thinks you dye it or something. Whatever.
It so happens that you're waiting for the last kid to get picked up. You're still trying to figure out how on Earth Rose somehow became a mom, but whatever. Apparently someone else is picking the kid up today and he's waiting for that person to do so. Seriously, it would be nice if they weren't so late.

As long as you can deal with my house rules.
no subject
What are those?
no subject
Lights either are off or at 50%. I will basically throw the hugest fit otherwise. Don't touch my shit in my room, but anywhere else is fair game. Don't bring anyone home you intend to fuck. Don't do drugs, and if you do, don't you dare bring that shit into here. No pets, but that's because this apartment doesn't like them and no amount of the landlady adoring me will change that. And don't try waking me up because I will literally throw you out the window.
no subject
I agree with all of those. That's just fine. But this begs a question, if you don't mind me asking- what is the light situation about?
no subject
Is that a trick question or you seriously haven't caught on.
no subject
[Oh shit...] Trick question.
no subject
I'm not answering it.
no subject
Fine! You don't have to or anything.
no subject
[Dave pauses for a moment.] You planning on staying the night? It sounds like it started raining.
no subject
Sure. I'll just go home to pack up my shit tomorrow.
no subject
But 'm taking a shower now because I smell like little kids, and I'd ruin any pedophile's dream if they followed me only to find out I'm of age.
no subject
Alright, I'll be waiting for you to get out then. I'd like to take one too, I smell like ass. [snicker.]

How did he get so lucky. He'd only rekindled this friendship not so long ago. But he supposes he's lucky! He gets to move out of his shitty apartment.]
no subject
Shower is all yours.
no subject
Thanks man. [John is going to literally run in there now.]
no subject
By the time John is done with his shower, Dave is lounging on the couch with his laptop. At the very least, he's wearing a shirt now. Pants are for squares though.]
no subject
Hey again.
no subject
[Dave tosses something at him. That something happens to be a blue plaid key.] Don't lose that, cause your life will be hell otherwise.
no subject
I won't lose it, thanks.
no subject
[He just stretches himself on the couch.]
no subject
Goodnight. [Totally beating it, right to Dave's room, right to Dave's bed. Best bed.]
no subject
Nope, fuck you. he will sleep like the dead.]
no subject
Dave? [It was a whisper. Oh god, how fucking adorable. But it seems Dave's glasses are askew. So he's just going to gently reach, take them off, and fold them up on the coffee table.]
no subject
That's probably not for another hour or so. Maybe. If you're lucky, he'll get up soon.]
