[Closed] Day(care) Dreamers
Your name is Dave Strider. Usually you'd start this by saying how cool you are, but that's not actually true. You aren't actually all that cool nor do you actually care. You're old enough to have graduated college but you never went. You just can't really do this people thing, which is why it's so surprising as to how you got your job. You're a daycare worker at some place in the richer area of the city. Kids love you. You have no idea why. It's really weird, but you're not going to try and make a big deal out of it. You get paid well after all. Even though it's your main income, you actually do fairly well with your website. You DJ and you release original music on it and it makes pretty good money. Enough that if you ever lost your job, it would still support you.
You kind of grew up as this really tall, skinny shit. It's your damn metabolism and the only reason you aren't as skinny as you are is because your Bro made sure of it and you actually work out when you have time. That doesn't help with you being paler than any Twilight vampire and being assaulted by freckles. Also your hair kind of freaks people out or everyone thinks you dye it or something. Whatever.
It so happens that you're waiting for the last kid to get picked up. You're still trying to figure out how on Earth Rose somehow became a mom, but whatever. Apparently someone else is picking the kid up today and he's waiting for that person to do so. Seriously, it would be nice if they weren't so late.

Not really. I'm sorry Dave.
no subject
I'm not really in a place to judge anyways. I'm just trying to figure out what you're trying to get at.
no subject
[He totally is about to get thrown out of Dave's apartment. He dug the hole for himself, he might as well lie in it.]
no subject
[But he's moving the chicken and potatoes to a large place to cool before he turns off the stove and moves towards the pantry to put away the ironic, frilly apron he has.] What?
no subject
My point is that I don't like just any guy, and I've never really had luck with girls. They just aren't my thing either. I feel most comfortable around you. [So what it's only in passing at the Daycare. John really admires Dave.
So he's stepping a little closer, hands placed gently on Dave's arms. He leans forward- kissing him again. Except this time Dave isn't pinned to his car, and it's not as aggressive.]
no subject
His initial reaction was to shove John away and then sock him in the face, but he's luckily good at thinking before he acts. But he does kind of push John away, trying to put room between them.] This isn't going to work, John.
[He's doing exactly what Rose said he would.]
no subject
I know what you're doing, and I'm here to tell you it's not like that. I'm not here to play with your heart, or to hurt you. [So john won't kiss him again, but he will hold Dave's hand.]
no subject
What I'm doing? I'm saying that it's not going to work. It just isn't. [Dave doesn't get a happy ending. He knows that.] I don't think you are, but I seriously doubt things are going to set sail. Shit already sunk before it started.
no subject
Dave, don't say that. Nothing sank. Nothing is wrong with letting yourself be in a relationship where someone will try their hardest to make you happy.
[Dave is going to get that happy ending.] You're not even gonna give ol' Egbert a chance?
no subject
[He was running out of excuses. He didn't think John would be this stubborn.] Why are you trying so hard?
no subject
[He rolls his eyes.] Because I really like you, doofus.
no subject
[He is skeptical of you.]
no subject
[He is a prankster. Not a person who would lie.]
no subject
Saturday. Seven in the evening.
no subject
Sounds great. I'm looking forward to it.

Is it okay if I compliment you again?
no subject
[Dave really is playing hard to get.]
no subject
[And because John is charming. Trying to woo you as well.]
no subject
[You dumb, man.]
no subject
Okay, well then I'll compliment your cooking instead.
no subject
Gotta survive somehow. Living off instant noodles gets tiring.
no subject
It's better than eating nothing because you can't afford it.
no subject
[Dave tears all the chicken off his bone before eating the pieces. He also mashes up his potatoes. CAN'T BE TAMED.]
no subject
[John just digs into that chicken, and takes meticulous bites of the potatoes. THEY ARE A WORK OF ART.]
