Your name is Dave Strider. Usually you'd start this by saying how cool you are, but that's not actually true. You aren't actually all that cool nor do you actually care. You're old enough to have graduated college but you never went. You just can't really do this people thing, which is why it's so surprising as to how you got your job. You're a daycare worker at some place in the richer area of the city. Kids love you. You have no idea why. It's really weird, but you're not going to try and make a big deal out of it. You get paid well after all. Even though it's your main income, you actually do fairly well with your website. You DJ and you release original music on it and it makes pretty good money. Enough that if you ever lost your job, it would still support you.

You kind of grew up as this really tall, skinny shit. It's your damn metabolism and the only reason you aren't as skinny as you are is because your Bro made sure of it and you actually work out when you have time. That doesn't help with you being paler than any Twilight vampire and being assaulted by freckles. Also your hair kind of freaks people out or everyone thinks you dye it or something. Whatever.

It so happens that you're waiting for the last kid to get picked up. You're still trying to figure out how on Earth Rose somehow became a mom, but whatever. Apparently someone else is picking the kid up today and he's waiting for that person to do so. Seriously, it would be nice if they weren't so late.

[Fine, fine. You win Dave. You win. John lifts Dave again and tried to situate them in the bed together.]

[Dave just grunts a bit before curling up against John, snuggling against the other before burying his face against him.]

[John sighs quietly in defeat, putting his chin on top of Dave's head and settling in to fall back asleep with his arms around the other. This was going to be interesting when they wake up again.]

[They've basically wasted this entire day sleeping in Dave's bed.

But Dave does finally sit up later and John probably feels Dave sleepily pat at him, but he's actually groping around for his sunglasses.]

[longwinded]

[That's cool, they probably needed the sleep anyways.

John stirs for a moment, opening his eyes before they drifted back shut. It took a moment to register what Dave was looking for. He reaches into his own hoodie pocket- producing the shades and placing them right into the open hand Dave was still groping with.

John however goes back to his original position, arm around Dave and comfortable.]

[Dave shoes them back on and is kind of...]

Uh. John.

[Why are you sleeping in his bed with him...again.]

[longwinded]

[John looks back up, a puzzled look on his face. Why was Dave interrupting important cuddling time? He opens his mouth to speak, his voice hoarse and scratchy from sleeping the entire day.]

Yeah? What is it Dave?

[knightime]

How'd you end up back in my bed?

[He doesn't remember how he ended up in bed in the first place. He was pretty sure he was at his turntables, so this is actually kind of weird in general.]

[longwinded]

You fell asleep at your turntables, and I carried you to bed. When I tried leaving you clung to me so I gave up and just slept here with you.

[He yawns, patting the nightstand for his own glasses. Hm.]

Oh...

[Dave might have flushed a little.] Sorry 'bout that. That's like completely takin' platonic bro cuddles and teetering the line between completely homo and not.

[longwinded]

[John just smiles, like the doof he is.]

It's cool man. I'm pretty sure i didn't really mind, seeing as I didn't flip out when I woke up. I'm completely cool with platonic bro cuddles teetering on the line right now, if you're cool with it.

I was just worried, okay? I originally came to apologize for being a huge douchebag. I shouldn't get into your business like that.

We're not a thing. [Dave feels the need to mention it. He still doesn't know he can handle a relationship with John. He's sure he'll completely fall for the other, if he hasn't already.]

'm fine. He ain't botherin' me again so we don't have to worry 'bout him at our doorstep again.

[longwinded]

I know we're not. [They say this and they're still laying this in the same bed together. John's arm is still wrapped around Dave's middle. He was honestly worried about him still.]

If he ever does, I'm answering the door.

I just wanted to make that clear. [Even though he knows he should be pulling away from John.]

Dude, just chill. It's some shit that needed to get done with. He caught me at the club with you and decided to harp in on my business and I told him to fuck off. As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing else between us. [Other than a hell lot of hurt and bitter memories and feelings on Dave's side.]

[longwinded]

Dude, I got it. [His body language doesn't get it though, because that was a protective hold. No one fucks with his best bro and gets away with it.]

You deserve so much better, you're not a toy. You're a person, and in all honesty- who is he to control you? You're not with him anymore. So he can keep his nose in his own business. [His hand soothes Dave's back now.]

I'm well aware of that, already. You don't have to tell me, John.

[He kind of just slowly pulls himself away from the other, finally. This is getting a little awkward.] This is a little too close for comfort. Me thinks you're getting a little too friendly there.

[longwinded]

[He doesn't want to tell Dave he has this need right now to just protect him. he doesn't want to even let go right now. He does it reluctantly.

He sighs in defeat.

I wasn't trying to get too friendly. Just rubbing your back. Sorry dude. Just didn't want you upset or anything.

I'm not upset anymore, but if we keep talking about this, I'm going to be.

[Dave awkwardly moves to get out of bed. He's obviously trying to put distance between him and John. He let this go too far already.]

[longwinded]

Then don't fucking talk about it.

[Yeah, no. He doesn't see that Dave needs to get out bed right now. So he makes a brave move and pulls him right back in.] Don't leave, please. [it really is a pleading tone. He doesn't want Dave to leave him. He doesn't want to upset him either, so this was a confusing two way street.]

[Dave kind of falls back onto the bed and partly on top of John.] Joh-! John. [Why are you being so stubborn?]

[longwinded]

[Because he likes Dave, so much more than even he can comprehend. He's done talking about this, if it gets him thrown out at least he can say he tried. Right?

He closes the distance between them, pressing their lips together in a firm- yet not forced kiss. If Dave wanted to slap him. John left the window of opportunity open for that.]

[John, you are the king of doing things on the fly.

Dave's initial reaction is to shove at the other. Punch him. His hand flexes and it's in midair, unsure what to do. Because John is kissing him, and he wants this, but he's scared to have it. Dave can barely get a word out,trying to get a say in this.]S-Stop. [Except Dave hasn't pulled away nor has he stopped John.]

[This is how John rolls. This is how he wants to try and woo Dave even if it isn't quite romantic.

He hears the plea to stop, and so he does. John is one to respect when someone says stop. His hands are immediately comforting and soothing where they can. He doesn't want to upset the other.]

[Oh man. He's completely fallen for John. Fuck. What does he do. Other than lie here uselessly and not kind of freak out because he doesn't know how to handle this. John is doing a great job at attaching himself to Dave.

He's mentally freaking out.]

[John doesn't know what to do. He doesn't know whether to comfort Dave or kiss him again. So he settles for a kiss on the cheek.]

Dave?
