Your name is Dave Strider. Usually you'd start this by saying how cool you are, but that's not actually true. You aren't actually all that cool nor do you actually care. You're old enough to have graduated college but you never went. You just can't really do this people thing, which is why it's so surprising as to how you got your job. You're a daycare worker at some place in the richer area of the city. Kids love you. You have no idea why. It's really weird, but you're not going to try and make a big deal out of it. You get paid well after all. Even though it's your main income, you actually do fairly well with your website. You DJ and you release original music on it and it makes pretty good money. Enough that if you ever lost your job, it would still support you.

You kind of grew up as this really tall, skinny shit. It's your damn metabolism and the only reason you aren't as skinny as you are is because your Bro made sure of it and you actually work out when you have time. That doesn't help with you being paler than any Twilight vampire and being assaulted by freckles. Also your hair kind of freaks people out or everyone thinks you dye it or something. Whatever.

It so happens that you're waiting for the last kid to get picked up. You're still trying to figure out how on Earth Rose somehow became a mom, but whatever. Apparently someone else is picking the kid up today and he's waiting for that person to do so. Seriously, it would be nice if they weren't so late.

[The indication that Dave was awake was probably not one John was expecting. There was the sound of the couch making noises, but the accompanying loud cry of pain and the loud thud that Dave must have rolled off the couch and onto the floor was probably surprising.]

[John turns off the stove and moves the hashbrowns as he rushes into the living room again. He's baffled and confused. The lights were at 50%, he thought.

He only got the shades because they were falling off anyways!]

Dave are you okay?

[He's patting around, looking for his shades. Oh mother fuck, where are those son of a bitches. Dave's eyes are shut tightly and he's gritting his teeth. He's definitely awake, if that's any consolation.]

I feel like I just stared into the fucking sun, holy shit.

[longwinded]

It's just the light in the dining area, and it's not even all the way on. I set it where you told me to- I think!

[John walks over and places the shades in Dave's hands from where he had set them.]

You didn't open any blinds or anything else?

[Dave takes it from him and jams them back onto his face.

He just kind of lays there for a moment.] You have no idea why I had to get all my light switches replaced with ones that can dim my lights do you.

[longwinded]

I had the one in the kitchen open so I could open the window. Didn't wanna smoke up the kitchen.

[FRETTING SERIOUSLY.] No? I really don't.

You know what photophobia is?

[He just let's out a defeated sigh.] The dimmed apartment and me wearing shades all the time didn't give it away?

[longwinded]

I'm assuming I need to find out what that is, don't I?

[He shrugs.] I didn't want to pry in your personal business.

It's a common thing with those with albinism. My eyes are extremely light sensitive.

[Oh my god, John.] That's why my apartment stays dimmed or I wear these all the time.

[longwinded]

I'm really sorry Dave, I didn't know they were that sensitive.

[Oh my god, shut up Dave. He didn't know!!!] Speaking of, those look really familiar.

They aren't the standard issue along with the rest of me.

[Dave just stays laying there.] They should. You gave these to me for my birthday.

[longwinded]

[John nods, he thought so. But he never thought Dave would actually keep those things!]

You've had them for a really long time then.

They're convenient.

[It's obvious that Dave is brushing it off as just wearing it because he had them, but who wears the same pair of shades for this long? Who even takes care of their sunglasses that well?]

[longwinded]

They look good on you too.

[Dave does apparently. They look really awesome to be as old as they are.]

[knightime]

You're doing that trying to compliment me as much as possible thing, aren't you.

[Stop it.] What did you make?

[longwinded]

Maybe I am. Maybe I'm not.

[NEVER.] Pretty much any breakfast item in your kitchen.

Dude, how much food did you make? Do I look like a starving third world child? Christ.

Enough for the both of us, and maybe then some. [He looks like a hungry Dave to him.]

I don't make breakfast often, so enjoy.

Jesus Christ. You're trying to fatten me up so you can eat me. I knew you were actually some homicidal cannibal.

[Dave moves to get back up.] When are you getting your shit?

[longwinded]

Oh drat, you found me out. I just wanted to put you in the oven this entire time. My plans are foiled.

[He shrugs.] Today.

Well, let's eat so you can get a move on moving in.

[Dave heads back to the kitchen.]

[longwinded]

[John follows. Taking the biscuits from the oven when he walks in. Look Dave, breakfast! It looks edible too.]

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'm excited not to live in that shithole anymore.

[knightime]

[Dave is massacring his breakfast as usual. Everything is right in the world.]

There are cheaper places then where you were living.

[longwinded]

It was what I could afford when I moved in, until the landlord upped my rent. Stupid situation that should have never happened.

[He washes up his dishes.] I can go alone. Since I don't have any furniture. Just my clothes and other shit.

I'll be home all day. I don't have anything to do until the evening.
